By Rural Action

Overview

An old Rural Action tradition of fostering diverse dialogues on energy, food security, equity, and more over a monthly lunch session.

The Green Lunch Series will delve into topics such as energy, food security, equity and gender, smart growth, land use, transportation, materials, and emerging innovations. Through engaging speakers, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, we aim to explore the positive future envisioned by millions worldwide, with a keen focus on local perspectives and solutions.

Please join us on Tuesday, December 9th from 12:00PM-1:00PM at the Plains Public Library in their large conference room.

True Pigments transforms acid mine drainage from abandoned coal mines into high-value iron oxide pigments, creating both clean waterways and new economic opportunities in Appalachia. Join Michelle Shively Maclver, Director of Project Development and Kenny Roberts, Operations Manager of the True Pigments Project as they highlight the technology, partnerships, and community impact behind social enterprise model for environmental restoration.

This is a free to attend, brown bag lunchtime discussion. Bring your lunch and join us for the noon hour as we discuss local sustainability efforts!
