On Saturday, October 18 at 1:00 p.m., artists Wing Young Huie, Ashley Hanson, and Jessica Huang will present Green Line Theater – an original, mobile theater production – in partnership with the Minnesota Museum of American Art’s (MMAA) Project Space exhibition From There to Here. The audience will travel together from scene to scene, using the light rail as transportation, in a style of site-specific theater know as “mobile theater.” The production will celebrate the rich history, stories, art, culture and talent found along the Central Corridor.
Thank you for registering for the event! Please join fellow participants at the parking lot for 2314 University Ave W, near the Raymond Station. Actors and volunteers will direct audience members to the location of the first scene. Following the first scene, audience members will board the Green Line and travel to the remaining scenes located near Hamline, Dale, 10th Street / Capitol, and Central Stations. The audience is invited to walk to the MMAA Project Space for the final scene, which will be followed by a celebratory reception with the entire production team. Audience members may park in the lot and return via the Green Line after the performance to retrieve their vehicles. Please note: free transfer privileges expire after 2 ½ hours, so your return trip may require a new METRO ticket.
Please direct production questions to Ashley Hanson at createplacempls@gmail.com, 952.486.0533; all other press inquiries, please contact Jessari Sutton at jsutton@mmaa.org, 651.797.4057.
