Event description

The California Coastal Conservancy, The Trust for Public Land, Save the Bay, San Francisco Estuary Partnership, East Bay Regional Park District, San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department and Bay Area Stormwater Management Agencies Association are convening a regional leadership conversation on multiple-benefit green infrastructure. The half-day event will begin with a Local Elected Offical’s Breakfast highlighting innovative models around the Bay Area and sharing opportunities to further integrate green infrastructure into planning and development. Following the breakfast, national and regional green infrastructure experts, state and local policymakers, practitioners, and community leaders will convene to share case studies, discuss barriers and opportunities, and develop strategies for expanding implementation of green infrastructure in the Bay Area.

Green infrastructure is a critical strategy for adapting to the impacts of climate change, protecting air and water resources, creating mobility options, and improving social cohesion and public health. As our region plans to accommodate a growing population, it is critical to re-envision the role of infrastructure in our communities to serve multiple functions and ensure equitable development.
