About the Greening Your Neighborhood Community Forum

Join the Sierra Club Michigan Chapter and Friends of the Rouge for the annual Green Your Neighborhood (GYN) virtual community forum. GYN aims to connect community members to programs and resources to help make their homes and neighborhood more sustainable through green stormwater infrastructure. GYN also highlights Detroit-based GSI projects to inspire residents and professionals alike. This year, the event will be held virtually via Zoom during the month of March. For more information about each event, please see the schedule below (descriptions and speakers are forthcoming):

  • Green Your Neighborhood: A Resident's Resource Guide - Monday, March `1 from 6-7pm
  • Green Infrastructure in Placemaking Projects - Monday, March 8 from 12-1pm
  • Green Infrastructure & Parks: A Look at Eliza Howell Park - Monday, March 15 from 3-4pm
  • Trees as a Stormwater Management Tool: A Conversation with Karen Firehock - Monday, March 22 from 6-7pm
  • Deep Dive: An Info Session on Rain Gardens to the Rescue and the Stormwater Specialist Training Program - Monday, March 29 from 6-7pm
