Green Industries - Best Management Practices (English)
Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (EDT)
The Green Industry Best Management Practices (GI-BMPs) are a science-based educational program for Green Industry workers (lawn-care and landscape maintenance professionals), brought to you by the UF/IFAS Florida-Friendly Landscaping(TM) program. The GI-BMPs teach environmentally safe landscaping practices that help conserve and protect Florida's ground and surface waters. Per state law, all landscape maintenance professionals who apply fertilizers to urban landscapes for hire need to complete the certification training program and then apply for a fertilizer applicator's license. Successful completion of the GI-BMP class requires passing a 50-question written multiple choice exam. A minimum score of 75% correct is required. Persons with questions pertaining to the technical elements of the class should contact UF/IFAS Broward County Extension Education at (954) 357-6381.
Register through Eventbrite using this website. Most major credit cards are accepted. Ticket price includes registration, materials, refreshments and lunch.
Those who cannot pay by credit card and need to pay by check must complete registration through Eventbrite and then submit a check separately made payable to the Broward Extension Foundation at least 24 hours before the class.
