Event description
A selection of plant based workshops teaching you the basics of growing, planting and creating a green space in your home and garden.

About this Event

Everyone loves to have plants at home, but sometimes we need a bit of guidance on how to keep our leafy friends happy and healthy (or - let’s be honest - alive).

Make are hosting three different Green-fingers workshops focusing on the fundamentals of plant-keeping: keeping plants alive, growing your own salads and veggies in any size garden, and growing your own new plants for free. Each workshop is self contained so you can attend one, or all three.

The workshops are informal with plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits and chatting. The sessions will be hands-on, working on plants with guidance from the workshop organisers and other participants.

The Green-fingers organisers are Terry, an experienced teacher and market gardener, and John, who leads the Hamilton community garden project. The workshops will be held in the community gardens of Make Hamilton, giving participants a chance to see behind the scenes of the new site. At the end of each workshop you will leave with the plants you have worked on.

Don’t worry if you miss any vital snippets of information on the day as a booklet of all the tips and techniques will be emailed to you after the session so you can comfortably put your new skills into practice. Getting stuck in with a practical approach and lots of hands on activities will give you the confidence to go home and care for your plants whether they're houseplants or a wild garden jungle!
