Event description

Please check here to see the video of the Green Educator Course.

A diverse network of educators and sense of community is created through this fully immersive programme in which participants stay overnight on the Green School campus. For 4 nights, 5 days, attendees will experience green living at its finest while sleeping in Student Village - a 2-story breezy, bamboo dorm and sharing some of the most delicious food on the island, prepared by Green School's amazing local kitchen team. Our Green School teachers and community members will provide our participants with an enriching educational experience.

5 Day Programme: ‘EDGY’-cation

EDGE (noun): the outside limit of an object, area, or surface

How education becomes 'EDGY'-cation and how to embrace the change towards Education for Sustainability (EfS). EfS allows every human being to acquire the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values necessary to shape a sustainable future. This often requires far-reaching changes in the way education is practiced today. This course is about adaptability in education and the ways you can change the bit you're part of to the best effect. Educators will get training in how to incorporate permaculture with their own work, by helping them discover more depth about permaculture and implicitly by ‘living permaculture’ in their own ways. Participants will also visit our LEAP Academy, learn about the methodology implementation, hands on learning and group dynamic games, mindfulness schoolwide, Project Based Learning (PBL) and hear about successful case studies.

Overview and Outcomes: ‘EDGY’-cation
