Event description
Learn the basics of managing your forest for carbon storage and sequestration.

About this Event

Join Ali Kosiba, state Climate Forester, to learn the basics of managing your forest for carbon. Ali has a Ph.D. in Natural Resources and an M.S. in Forest Science from UVM. She will discuss how forests sequester and store carbon, and the various ways landowners can take a more active role in this process.

Dr. Ali Kosiba is the Climate Forester for the State of Vermont, Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation, where she works to better understand and manage forests under climate change. Her background is in forest ecophysiology, which means that she considers how trees respond to environmental change and how those changes impact the larger forest ecosystem. She lives in the foothills of the Green Mountains in Bolton where she can often be found wandering in the woods.

Hosted by Sustainable Woodstock's Forest Carbon Action Group.
