About the speakers

TOM LEVITT - Author and co-founder of Fair for You

Mainstream business is starting to realise that, in the long term, being socially and environmentally responsible is a reliable way of making profit as it leads to better risk management. Tom will talk about his most recent book, The Company Citizen, which describes how enlightened business is increasingly being a force for good - whilst not underestimating the challenge ahead.

Tom Levitt is a writer and consultant on responsible business, a field he has worked in since leaving Parliament in 2010 after 13 years as a Labour MP. He is co-founder of the anti-poverty social enterprise, Fair for You and has held several positions as a charity chair and company director. His current book is ‘The Company Citizen: Good for Business, Planet, Nation and Community’. As a consultant his clients have included major businesses, think tanks, councils and charities, and he's carried out ground-breaking research on the role of small businesses in the community. Currently he is a member of the independent sustainability advisory panel for Walgreen Boots Alliance and sits on the British Standards Institute committee looking at the measurement of social value.

EMILY EVANS – Founding director and Head designer of Zola Amour

After working in the footwear industry for a number of years and becoming disillusioned after learning about the devastating effect that the fashion industry is continuing to have on our planet, Emily decided to take a stand against it and created a fashion brand to break the norm.

In 2016 she founded Zola Amour and with a name that literally means ‘earth love’ it is a brand that does just that.

It is important to us that we tick all the boxes and everything we produce is environmentally friendly. Made out of certified organic, natural materials that are bio-degradable and ethically made in the UK.

Designing ‘key pieces’ and not ‘collections’, each piece is designed to last and to be loved. Our season-less capsule wardrobe collection of timelessly stylish staples has been carefully created for the everyday modern woman and designed to be worn in various combinations throughout the whole year.

Zola Amour’s ambition is not to tell people how to dress or what they should be wearing, but to provide it’s women with a high quality, long lasting foundation wardrobe that they can make their own.

As a company we ensure that we tick all the boxes and everything we produce is environmentally friendly. Made out of certified organic, natural materials that are bio-degradable and ethically made in the UK.

We believe that it’s essential that we carefully consider our clothing without compromise and live by the motto:

SLOW DOWN. STAY STYLISH. BE SUSTAINABLE.
