Description

Join other friends and supporters of the Greek America Foundation during Memorial Day Weekend in New York City where we will meet, gather, break bread, learn, deliberate and celebrate. In addition to our biannual board of directors meeting, we will host a number of events and plan special experiences for young and old, including cooking demonstrations for young people and a guided visit to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. See below our tentative schedule of events and activities that are planned.

PLEASE NOTE: Ticket purchase is à la carte for each event. Lower ticket prices are available for kids 13 and under. Please email info@greekamericafoundation.org for details.

Friday, May 24

Welcome to New York City! Try and arrive early in the day to catch the exciting colors and views of the city as the sun sets. We don’t have an official headquarters hotel but do recommend hotels in Midtown as this will be the focal point of most of our activities.

1:00pm – 4:00pm Greek America Foundation Board of Directors meeting. Hosted at Libra Group headquarters (134 E 40th St, New York, NY 10016).

7:00pm – 9:30pm Welcome Dinner! Loi Estiatorio (132 W 58th St, New York, NY 10019). This evening, Chef Maria Loi will host an unforgettable evening of healthy and traditional Greek food and a great discussion about the Greek diet and how you can incorporate it into your everyday lifestyle.

The meal will be a culinary journey throughout Greece, prepared by Chef Loi and her team. Chef Loi will also be offering copies of her best-selling book “The Greek Diet,” which she will sign.

10:00pm – 4:00am Greece’s legendary singer Glykeria live at Melrose Ballroom! Experience a night at the Athenian bouzoukia without even leaving New York City! A short subway or taxi ride across the bridge from Manhattan and you will enter Astoria, the world-famous Greek neighborhood of the city also known as Greektown USA, home of Melrose Ballroom.

Special reserved tables for the Greek America Foundation. Discounted and reserved table seating available to Foundation members. The regular ticket for VIP tables is $185 and thanks to the generosity of Melrose Ballroom, our members get a discounted price of $100.
