About this Event

Keynote speaker will be Rick Bernstein, Founder of First Fruits Farms.

Richard M. Bernstein and his wife, Carol, founded First Fruits Farm in 1998. Published in a Guideposts article in 2008 and many local news articles from 2004-2019, the story of First Fruits Farm has inspired many.

Rick is a former Partner at Brown Advisory in Baltimore and was the lead manager of the Value Equity Fund. Prior to joining Brown Advisory, Mr. Bernstein was Vice President and Director of Research at Mercantile-Safe Deposit & Trust Company, where he was responsible for equity fund management and research. Rick earned his B.A. and M.A. from Johns Hopkins University. He has served as the President of the Westminster Rescue Mission.

First Fruits Farm exists to advance the Kingdom of God on Earth by:

  • Growing and giving food to those in need, in Jesus’ name.
  • Bringing together volunteers from diverse backgrounds to share a time of serving and blessing others.
  • Providing a fellowship opportunity for people of all races, socio-economic classes, and religious affiliations in a natural setting that demonstrates God’s grace and the love of Christ.
  • Offering a regular opportunity for Christian servant leadership.

Rick and Carol are quick to give all the glory to God and are grateful for the many volunteers who support the farm. Currently, they farm over 200 acres to serve people in Jesus’ name. First Fruits Farm is located in Freeland, Maryland.
