Event description

Description

The Greater St. Louis Association of Black Journalists is celebrating 40 years in 2016, and we hope that you can join us!

The organization will honor KMOV, Channel 4, retired director of community affairs, Mary Cannon; Webster University Media Professor Bernie Hayes; and St. Louis American Publisher Dr. Donald Suggs with its inaugural Trailblazer Award in recognition of their long-time contributions to journalism.

GSLABJ will also recognize FOX 2/KPLR 11’s Bonita Cornute with its 2016 Living Legend Award.

We will also use the milestone to reflect on forty years of excellent programming – which includes its Minority Journalism Workshop – note careers of members who have gone on to hold prestigious print, broadcast and public relations positions over the years and honor beloved leaders who have passed away.

Please note we'll have a cash bar and light hors d'oeuvres prior to the program.
