2. June 21-25: Mission Possible! Introduction to LEGO Mindstorm EV3 Robotics

3. June 21-25: Advanced Coding Gaming Camp

4. July 12-16: Jr. STEM Camp- Create your own game by coding, two different robotics, LEGO and Ozobots, and beginning circuitry little Bits

5. July 19-23: Arduino and Robotics Mechanisms

6. July 19-23: Space Camp

Greater New Orleans STEM Camps promote computational thinking and social skills:

• Involves creating, experimenting, testing, revising ideas, and reflection. Through creative play, campers will gain a deeper understanding of the coding process. Campers will develop important social skills such as communication, collaboration and teamwork! Activities will be a mix of guided and self-directed learning in a fun and active environment!

Ready, Set, CODE! Coding Gaming Camp

June 14-18

Grades 2-4

Learn to code! Use popular web-based technologies to design, program, and launch your very own web games complete with graphics and sound effects. Plus, develop algorithms to define game rules and logic. Then deploy your creations to the internet to share with friends. No prior coding experience necessary.

Mission Possible! Introduction to EV3 Robotics

June 21-25

Grades 3-7

Build and program autonomous robots using LEGO™ EV3™obots and MINDSTORMS™ education software. Work in teams to learn and share tips and new skills, and complete challenging tasks to enhance the team competition experience. On the final day of camp, campers show off their new skills in a robotics competition.

Participants in this weeklong session will get instruction and hands-on practice with activities that will allow them to build and program robots. They will also get information, tips and ideas on how to enhance their team competition experiences. Campers work in small teams to promote FIRST© Lego League’s signature set of Core Values.

Advanced Coding Gaming Camp

June 14-18

Grades 6-12 (or may attend if first session of coding camp from week of June 14th was attended)

Learn to code! Use popular web-based technologies to design, program, and launch your very own web games complete with graphics and sound effects. Plus, develop algorithms to define game rules and logic. Then deploy your creations to the internet to share with friends. This camp is itended for upper grades. But if yoour camper does not meet the grade requirement and has atended our first coding summer summer session, they may be eligible to attend this one.

Junior STEM Camp- Scratch Programming, Ozobot and LEGO WEDO Robotics and little Bits Circuitry

July 12-16

Grades 3-6

Calling all future engineers and scientists! Use popular programs to explore robotics, programming, electronics, and more! Use LEGO™ WEDO to build working models that use motors and sensors and program tasks. Learn electronics, circuits and creative design using littleBits electronic building blocks. No prior experience is needed to participate.

Magnetism & Electromagnetism

July 19-23

Grades 3-7

  • Explore and investigate the principles and properties of magnets and electromagnets. Learn how magnets are used to generate electricity. Build and test two electromagnets and discover what factors affect the strength of their electromagnetic fields. Plus, discover how magnets and electromagnets are used in real world!

Space Camp!

July 19-23

Grades 3-6

Team up to learn the basics of engineering, rocketry, and more! Work in teams to complete missions. Learn about space explorations through hands-on activities. Campers will explore the challenging world of space travel preparation.
