Will you have childcare or a creche provided?

We haven't currently organised one. If this is something you need: let Liv know 29th July latest and she will see what she can do!

What organisation is this part of?

Accepted Answer

This meeting is organised by Liv, who works for the Sortition Foundation, and it is part of our 858 Project, campaigning for a system run by and for ordinary people. We are calling for greater democracy in Greater Manchester via assemblies, and replacing the House of Lords with a House of Citizens.

I live in another area of Greater Manchester or just outside of GM - can I come?

Yes! We may not form a group local to you immediately but join us and we can discuss!

Question 6

Can I invite my friends, co-workers, family, enemies, exes, students, teachers, classmates, etc?

Accepted Answer

So long as you don't have a fight at the meeting!-- Only joking: of course you can! We want as many people there as possible. There is a cap on meeting capacity but, if we don't all fit in the space, we will find a way to accommodate.

Question 8

Will you cater to dietary requirements?

Accepted Answer

The majority of food will be vegetarian with some vegan options. There will be gluten-free options. There will be no meat provided.

Can I join if I'm going to be late/have to leave a bit early?

Accepted Answer

Yes, of course! We prefer that people arrive on time and stay for the whole meeting but if you can't then that's totally okay - come for as long as possible!

Can I come if I'm not signed up on Eventbrite?

Accepted Answer

We'd prefer people to come only if they've signed-up, as this allows us to stay in touch with you and ensures we don't over-crowd the space. However, if you're really keen but haven't managed to sign-up, come say hi on the day and give Liv your details to chat OR email Liv at: liv@858.org.uk
