Please join us for our second regional trip of 2023! We will spend Earth Day together at the Great Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge Birding and Crystal Digging Festival. We will meet at 10:00 am at the observation deck near the restrooms. The Visitor Services Specialist will meet us for a brief introduction to the park; then we will head to the dig area. Please bring the following items:

1. A shovel or hand trowel

2. Bucket to carry crystals

3. Sun protection (sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, etc.)

4. Plenty of water for drinking, rinsing crystals and washing your hands afterward

5. Sack lunch

6. A folding chair

This is the address for the gate to the digging area. Enter the area and meet at the observation deck near the restrooms.

Timing: Start at 10:00am
