Meet at main parking lot
You should have some canoe experience and are responsible for paddling your boat with your partner. This outing is through wetlands (not lake canoeing -- so there will be more plant vegetation to contend with during paddling). This is a leisurely paddle through the marsh with frequent stops along the way to learn about Grassy Waters and observe its beautiful natural surroundings. During this time, you should see wading birds flying in to the Preserve to roost for the night. We will stop at several areas that birds are normally seen during our daytime programs and end the program near an evening roosting area for observation. The outing will be about 1½ hours. All needed equipment is provided for the outing. Bring water, hat and bug spray.
