We’ll feature partner projects and products around Heritage/Arts, Food, Land, Ecotourism and Festivals from across NC. Take a stroll through the gallery and see what’s new and creative and how you might duplicate some of these in your community.

Mockville USA, a brief experiential learning opportunity! In this workshop we will consider power imbalances, community concerns and opportunities in rural communities.

Doing Too Much?  Making Too Little?  Learn about a great tool to help you prioritize programming and maximize your returns, time and impact!

Join expert facilitators at this *beginners* session.  Explore basic facilitation skills, top six “do’s,” and ways to increase equity as a facilitator.

Youth provide energy, insight, and creativity to projects. No wonder so many organizations are interested in enlisting their help! In this session, you’ll learn best practices for keeping youth safe, as well as strategies for creating a truly empowering experience so they stay involved for the long-term.

We’ll explore all the nuts & bolts of using volunteers and independent contractors to perform all the major administrative and programmatic activities of your organization.

LODGING at Hampton Inn: If you are traveling more than 2 hours to the event, you mayrequest lodging for the nights of Monday, October 28 (day before convening starts) and Tuesday, October 29. Resourceful Communities will take care of ALL arrangements. 

Note:  We have a limited number room block.  Lodging will be provided on a first come, first serve bases and double occupancy is required!

MILEAGE ALLOWANCE: Is provided round trip (1 per car)

MEALS: Snacks, lunch and dinner will be provided on Tuesday, October 29th  and breakfast, snacks and lunch are provided on Wednesday, October 30th.

Our caterer will do their best to make accommodations; if you have very specific dietary restrictions, please plan to bring snacks.

The Conservation Fund's Resourceful Communities Program


Resourceful Communities helps grassroots leaders create opportunities that preserve the rural landscape, access much-needed resources, and celebrate unique local cultures. We support a network of community organizations, faith-based groups, and resource partners who provide additional support through training, materials or funding. Our triple-bottom-line approach generates economic, environmental and social justice benefits in partner communities.

We help strengthen community organizations through capacity building, support on-the-ground projects through small grants, and nurture a growing network of grassroots partners and resource providers. Our effective combination of direct support, skills building, and connections to resources nurtures real change where it’s needed the
