Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM (CST)
San Antonio, TX
Grant Writing Basics: Creating a Fundable Proposal is the best training that I have seen and I wanted to share this tool with you. The presentation is design by a professional consulting group, not me.
Who is the facilitator and is he any good? Wesley Zernial, President, Padaz: Grantsforme (start-up company at Geekdom); wrote 21 government grants with 20% success rate that resulted in about $8,000,000 in awarded grants by self-taught; 8 yrs of government and international grant management experience. Am I good? It depends, I am better at managing than I am writing.
What is a grant? According to wiki: grants are basically non-repayable funds disbursed by one party (grant makers), often a government department, corporation, foundation or trust, to a recipient, often (but not always) a nonprofit entity, educational institution, business or an individual.
Why do I want a grant? For the money!
Who should come? You, your friend, people who are new to grants.
What should I wear? As little or as much as you like--I usually wear gym clothes.
Action item: RSVP or not, show up, relax, no expectations.
