Description

Granite Academy logoPlease join the Granite Academy Family and Walk for our students. There will be food and fun for the whole family. The first annual Granite Walk-A-Thon will help raise money to strengthen our educational programs and increase the ability to offer an enriched education experience to Granite Academy’s diverse economic student body.

WHAT: Granite Academy 5K Walk-a-thon is an active and healthy fundraiser with lots of fun activities planned. Throughout the morning and early afternoon, participants will walk laps around the Quincy High School track from 10:00AM to 1:00PM. Participants, sponsors, Granite faculty and family members are also invited to participate in concurrent fun activities. Light refreshments will be available and a barbeque lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs will be served starting at 11:45AM – all for a nominal fee.

WHY: To promote health and wellness AND help raise funds for investments to provide our students’ with an enriched Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) curriculum. STEAM programs enhance students' learning and overall education experience. The purpose of our Walk-a-thon Fundraiser is to raise funds for a new science lab and robotics equipment that will be incorporated into an enhanced STEAM program.

HOW: We invite students, family and friends to join us in helping raise funds by asking family and friends to sponsor them based on the number of laps they walk. Sponsors can pledge per lap or with a flat donation. Pledge Sheets and details for their use will be provided in a few weeks when we kick-off the Walk-A-Thon pledge drive. Participants will be provided with T-shirts to wear on Walk-a-thon day.

All participants should register via the green "register" button above.
