Event Details

Grandparenting Circle on 4th February 2020

You are invited to join Judith Hemming and Jane James to explore what being a grandparent means for you within your family system. The day will offer a mixture of teaching, exercises and constellations. The workshop will have a limitd number of particiapnts so everyone has time to speak and explore. It is open to all grandparents, or parents approaching the age where they could become a grandparent. We also welcome anyone one else with an interest in this time of life as well as those who would like to expand their knowledge in this area.

We will explore such questions as:

  • Where is my (new) right place?
  •  What resources do I need so I can be at peace with what is changing in the family?
  • What am I to do with my anxieties and prejudices, my own unfinished business, and what is needed so that my grandchildren don’t carry a family burden?

Jane James is a mother and grandmother, a former teacher and a systemic coach and constellations practitioner. She has worked in all spheres of education from early years to universities and her interests are in the human dynamics of families and organisations. Her six grandchildren are under the age of eight and bring her great joy and fresh insight into child development and family influences.

Cancellation Policy:

  • cancellation with more than 1 month's notice: full refund given
  • cancellation made within 2-4 weeks of the workshop: half the fee is refunded

Judith Hemming

Judith  is one of Britain-s foremost practitioners and trainers of Constellations and is highly regarded internationally as an expert in systemic approaches.

A Gestalt practitioner and couples therapist of over 30 years, Judith has trained generations of therapists in the Gestalt model. In 1991, she trained in constellations work from its founder, Bert Hellinger, among others, and is now a leading figure in this world community of practitioners and teachers. Her previous experience as an English teacher and lecturer in education studies at the Institute of Education allowed her to pioneer this educational work.

For over twenty years, Judith has been a leading innovator in this approach, developing work with individuals, couples, organisations, education sectors and communities. Her work has touched a full spectrum of issues, from individuals to governments. She coaches, consults and runs workshops and training programmes in the UK, Europe, the USA, and Japan.

A founding member and teacher at the Centre for the Study of Intimate & Social Systems, now Centre for Systemic Constellations Ltd, she has played a lead role in research into the application of systemic solutions in the corporate world, as well as management and learning processes in schools. She has led the development of the constellating process for ‘in-tact teams’, as an executive coaching process and to support the development of learning cultures. A pioneer of innovation, Judith is dedicated to bringing systemic approaches to family, educational, organisational and wider social systems.

Judith is married with 2 adult daughters and has 3 gorgeous grandchildren.
