Grand Slam West is back in Moab for our 20th year!
Join fellow Grand Cherokee owners for this incredible event and experience some of the best four-wheeling in the world. Grand Slam West is a volunteer-run event held exclusively for Jeep Grand Cherokees from stock (with proper equipment) to full custom builds. At Grand Slam West you can get the opportunity to wheel famous trails like Fins N Things, Hell's Revenge, Poison Spider Mesa, and many more.
We are still working out the final details but want to get you event dates and basic information as soon as possible so you can start planning and get vacation plans submitted and housing arranged. Also we are finalizing the costs but it will be close to what it was last year if it even changes and think of the value, five days of trails in Moab for about the cost of one day of EJS. Even if you can only make it a couple of days because of work, don't let that stop you, bring out your Grand and come join us.
Whether you're new to wheeling or have been doing it your whole life, Grand Slam West is a great way to spend time on the trails with your Grand Cherokee brethren. Each day we offer a full variety of trails to cover all levels of driver and rig capability. Some trails are much easier and suitable for properly equipped stock Grands of all vintages, while others will push even the most highly modified rigs to their limits. Each trail will be lead by an experienced Grand Cherokee driver who can help you fully realize the potential of your vehicle. It is also a great opportunity to mingle with many of the folks that you know from forums and Facebook groups, and get to really pick their brains on what has and has not worked on their rig.
As we already mentioned, Moab has some of the best wheeling in the world. It is also home to some spectacular scenery, and it is our duty to keep it that way. Grand Slam West promotes responsible wheeling by staying on established routes, being courteous to others on the trails, and leaving the area in better condition than it was when we got there. We also hold a pancake breakfast every year to raise funds for the local groups that help keep our trails open.

The T-Shirt layout this year is most likely to be a collage of past T-shirt designs over the last 19 years. Check out the GSW Info site for the latest info as it becomes available.
Note that we are rebuilding the Info Site so pardon our dust as we revamp and make it fresher and better.
More info and vendor sponsor updates in the days to come, check our information site above for more details.
Follow us on Instragram and Facebook too!
What are the last days I can register, purchase tickets for the BBQ Banquet and Pay for T-Shirts?
Event Registration: Due by Noon Thursday 6/8/17
BQ tickets: Due by Noon Thursday 6/8/17 (we need to know how much food and drink to purchase)
T-Shirts: Sales closed, orders entered (this gives us time to get the order in to the printer, setup time and shipping/pickup time)
What Should I bring to the event and what is required?
More detailed information on the info site at www.grandslamwest.org
+ Bring a Grand Cherokee with tow/extraction points securely attached to the front and rear of your Grand Cherokee. Even on the easy trails we have had to tow some rigs when the unforseen happens.
+ Your Grand Cherokee must have a transfer case with low range that you are going to take on the trail. Note: some 4WD Grand Cherokees have 4WD, but only in high range, this doesn't work on the trails well at all. We have had participants try the trails and obstacles in the past, however w/o low range, you will not make obstacles and burn up your torque converter and/or transmission.
+ A great attitude and sense of humor - we the planners and organizers as well as the trail leaders do not get paid anything for this and we spend a lot of time and our own money to make this happen so we all can have an enjoyable event,
+ A camera or two, you will want pictures of the other Grands as well as you in your Grand doing the obstacles and did we mention the most spectacular scenery in the world! People travel from all over the world to see Moab UT and by wheeling the trails in the back country, you can see even more of the beautiful scenery, We have even been chatted up by some Australians that have a WJ at home and are looking to lift it and build it to wheel in their Outback.
How do I make a trail selection like I did in past years?
+ In moving to Eventbrite to do the registration we are not requiring folks to select trails for registration. You can read the trails being offered on the specific days on the Trail Information page, then the day of, you can choose the trail you want to run based on descriptions and as we often see, what other friends are running. During the trail description by the trail leader the minimum requirements for vehicles will be given and you can also use that information to help choose your trail for the day.
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
+ Post up questions on Mallcrawlin.com in the Grand Slam West forum as well as search for answers to the obvious questions: GSW Forum.
+ Email the planners at this address: firstname.lastname@example.org and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
Can I update my registration information?
Yes you can.
What is the refund policy?
There are no refunds, please make sure you are going to attend before registering and paying for that registration as well as the BBQ banquet on Saturday night or T-Shirts. See the information site for more info on t-shirts and getting them shipped to you if you unable to attend.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
As long as the planners are aware that you have either purchased someone else's ticket(s) or it was given to you. If you are in this position, post up some basic info on the GSW form so we can contact the person whose registration you are using/purchased.
