Grand Rapids International Women's Day Celebration Documentary Showing
Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM (EDT)
In a Grand Rapids celebration of International Women's Day, SowHope is teaming up with the Hauenstein Center for Presidential Studies to bring you "Let Me Sow Hope," a documentary film exposing the overwhelming challenges and vulnerabilities faced by impoverished women in the developing world and the transformational effect of hope.
Join us Wednesday, March 12 at 4:30pm in GVSU's Loosemore Auditorium for the first screening of "Let Me Sow Hope," followed by a Q&A session with Mary Dailey Brown, CEO of SowHope. A second screening will begin at 7pm followed by a panel discussion hosted by Mayor George Heartwell. The featured panelists are experts with first-hand knowledge of the realities faced by women in developing countries. A light reception will be held in the Hager-Lubbers Exhibition Hall at 6 PM in between showings.
Inspired by Ralph Hauenstein, we seek to provide a platform for emerging leaders in all three major sectors of public life – business, government, and nonprofit. We promote civic engagement that (1) honors the Founders’ vision of a constitutional republic; (2) builds on existing democratic institutions that promote justice, freedom, opportunity, sustainable prosperity, and the rule of law; and (3) envisions the possibilities for creating better communities.
