Grand Finale Presentation
Come one, come all! See what we've built!
Members of the public are invited to come see the results of our magic! Join our virtual Grand Finale Presentation where we share the results of our weekend-long virtual civic tech sprint to build technology supporting grassroots litter cleanup efforts.
Our participants spent the weekend working collaboratively at our Hackathon event as a part of Open Data Week. These amazing volunteers have worked tirelessly to build out a functional tool to promote group cleanup efforts, help people adopt city blocks for litter cleanup, and more. Our goal was to end the weekend with a user-friendly tool that makes litter cleanup easier and more inclusive- come find out how we did. We will aim to leave time for questions and audience participation!

What is Open Data Week?
Open Data Week 2021 is a week-long festival of community-driven events organized and produced by the NYC Mayor’s Office of Data Analytics and BetaNYC.
Every year, New Yorkers come together all across the boroughs to celebrate New York City’s Open Data Law, which was signed into law on March 7, 2012. Coincidentally, the first weekend of March is also International Open Data Day. Together, we use both dates to anchor NYC’s Open Data Week and increase civic engagement with our municipal open data by bringing together various communities to have discussions, demos, trainings or other engagements to raise awareness about NYC Open Data as a free resource for New Yorkers.
