Description

Graduates Summit is an all day event focused on helping graduates and undergraduates to get them ready for the workplace and the marketplace.


The focus is on entrepreneurship and employability skills, information, and resources.


Graduates Summit: Preparing undergraduates and graduates for the workplace and marketplace in a technology driven world/age.

In this summit:

1. You will learn how to get yourself ready for the workplace and the marketplace and the skills and tools needed

2. You will be shown tools and skills you need to position yourself in the workplace and marketplace

3. You will be introduced to information and resources that will give you an edge over your colleagues and peers

4. You will be taught how to personally brand yourself

5. You will learn the tools the experts use to position themselves as experts

6. You will be taught how to use social media platforms to sell and brand yourself

7. You will be taught how to use blogging as a tool for your personal use and in your workplace

8. You will be introduced to podcasting and online radio

9. You will learn how to use your social media profiles/bio and your posts as your Curriculum Vitae (CV)

10. Your will learn how to use public speaking and writing to enhance your personal brand

11. You will learn how to find and chart your career path

12. How to use volunteering to develop workplace skills, get work experience and access to network of people

Resource Persons:

1. Sam Semako

He is a Career Consultant with passion to helping undergraduates, graduates, and people in the workplace find their life works and develop their expertise.

2. Gilead Ogbonna

He is the "Techless to Techie" advocate. He helps people who are not technology savvy take advantage of technology as a tool for their businesses and career.

3. Milcher Pwajok

She works with Nigeria Film and Video Censors Board. She is also the visionary behind "Jos Book Fair".

4. Jibril Mailafia


5. Justin Galadima

Co-founder and Manager of Patisserie Bakery. Passionate about entrepreneurship. Straight out of higher institution, started different businesses before settling on bakery and pastry business.

6. Dr. Onyike Abraham Onyike

A medical doctor by training, but a leadership expert at heart. A youth development advocate and trainer.

7. Ferdinand Attah

A chronic volunteer with several organisations. A Massive Open Online Course opportunities trainer.

8. Murtala Abdullahi

CEO of Smartweb Nig Ltd who started a global/national IT company without a degree employing graduates with undergraduates interns.

9. Andrew Patience

An On Air Personality with KT 103.9FM. Prior to moving to KT 103.9FM, she was an On Air Personality Unity FM. She is the brain behind COAL (Custodians Of African Literature). She is also a poet and writer.

10. Bunmi Okonoda

An astute business woman and an instructor with Nigeria Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).

11. Judith Tiri

Lecturer in the Mass Comms Dept of the University of Jos and also the Programs Officer of American Corner Jos.

12. Serah Joel Ayuba

The Executive Administrative Manager of the American Corner Jos. Worked in the bank before taking appointment with the University of Jos.

13. Ipalibo Inko-Tariah

Managing Director of Tarmac Security Nig Ltd. Started different businesses as an undergraduate in University of Jos and sustained himself through the university.

14. Prince Charles Dickson

Prolific writer and astounding speaker. He is funny, witty and can at the same mean business. A freelance journalist of repute.

15. Caleb Menegbe

An integrated farmer helping and grooming youths get into agricultural businesses.

16. Kenneth Awom

An outstanding blogger, marketer, and businessman.

17. Benny Capricorn

Once a teacher turned digital marketing Strategist with over 102, 704 followers on Twitter. He is also a researcher, social media influencer and a blogger.

18. Ameh Odang

An animal production trained turned graphic and media entrepreneur. He has done graphic works for several individuals and organisations of repute as a source of income.
