Event description

Description

This CEU presentation Naturalness: Design in the Anthropocence is directed to Interior Designers and Architects. Wilsonart, Laminart and Arborite are excited to welcome Grace Jeffers, a dynamic and passionate speaker to Seattle for this special event.

When it's all gone, what will you build with?

Today we live in the Anthropocene, a period in which human activity has become the dominant influence on the environment. Nature isn't what it used to be, and, in this lecture, we will explore the complicated relationship between the natural and man-made worlds. What is really happening around us and how does material selection play a role in the outcome? Join us in person to better understand the complexity in the "real" versus "fake" quandary.

Grace Jeffers is an American writer, historian, educator and artist based in New York. She pioneered and continues to lead an interdisciplinary and integrated approach to the study of materials.

Graciously hosted by MG2 Seattle and sponsored by Wilsonart
