The "magical" Governors Island -- a 10-minute ferry ride from Lower Manhattan -- houses many galleries in converted suburban-style homes built in the 1920s.  You'll see contemporary painting, sculpture, video and photography. Take the 1-, R-, or W-train to South Ferry/ Whitehall St. Stations, then go to the left of the Staten Island Ferry to board the Governors Island Ferry.  Arrive no later than 12:15 PM to board the ferry that leaves at 12:30 PM sharp, so that you reach the island on time and the tour doesn’t leave without you.  All sales are final, and tickets are valid only for the date for which it was purchased.  Tours take place no matter the weather, as the art is all indoors. Some galleries will require masks.
