Description

Please join us for a briefing and discussion with State Senator Scott Wiener to learn more about, and provide input into the development of Senate Bill 69. SB 69, also known as The Ocean Resiliency Act of 2019, proposes the reduction of land-based sources of pollutants in order to improve water quality and tackle ocean acidity. SB 69 also aims to sequester greenhouse gas emissions by restoring kelp and other forms of ocean habitat, as well as protect keystone species to maintain biodiveristy. Senator Wiener represents the people of California's Senate District 11 which includes all of San Francisco, Broadmoor, Colma, and Daly City, as well as portions of South San Francisco. During his term as a state legislator, Wiener has passed 26 bills that were signed into law.

Before his election to the Senate, Senator Wiener served on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. During his time on the Board of Supervisors, Senator Wiener authored a number of first-in-the-nation laws, focusing extensively on housing and public transportation, authoring laws to streamline approvals of affordable housing, to allow new in-law units, and to tie public transportation funding to population growth.

We look forward to seeing you there. Please RSVP.
