Tanya is a social worker and has a small practice in Essex working primarily with youth and young adults. Tanya is also a school social worker at Charlotte Central School. She lives in Essex with her spouse Jefferson Hales and their dog Laika.

Tanya made the decision to run for state office after realizing that the government did not seem set up to work for her, her neighbors, or most Vermonters. Upon closer inspection, it became clear that her voice wasn’t even represented in Montpelier. Tanya wants to fight for a Vermont that works for everyone and make sure that the voices of all people are represented. She believes in affordable housing, living wages, social justice, universal healthcare, strong education, and progressive taxation.
