Featured Performers: Gordon Kennedy, Danny Flowers and Karla Davis
Gordon Kennedy: Kennedy’s name became nationally recognized when he won Song of the Year at the 1997 Grammy Awards for Eric Clapton’s number one hit, “Change the World”. Kennedy has penned hits for musical greats including Don Henley, Bonnie Raitt, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Bruce Hornsby, Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Alison Krauss, Nickel Creek, Peter Frampton, George Strait, Martina McBride, Joan Osborne, Wynonna, Jerry Reed and bluegrass legend, Ricky Skaggs. Some of his most notable cuts include Bonnie Raitt singles, “I Can’t Help You Now,” “I Will Not Be Broken” and her title cut “Gypsy in Me”. He is also known for Alison Krauss’ “Maybe,” and his Garth Brooks single, “You Move Me.” Kennedy currently tours as the guitarist for rock legend, Peter Frampton.
Danny Flowers: Danny Flowers may be best known for having penned the classic, "Tulsa Time" (Don Williams, Eric Clapton), or as author of such soulful cuts as, "Before Believing" (title cut for Emmylou Harris's Pieces Of The Sky) and "Gulf Coast Highway" (Nanci Griffith, Emmylou Harris and Willie Nelson, Evangeline), among others, but as a solo artist, his bluesy blend of raw emotion combined with a heartfelt yearning will speak to your very soul.
Danny's instrumentality has also earned him a high level of notoriety in the industry. Having paid his dues on the road with artists such as Don Williams, Nanci Griffith, Vince Gill, Marshall Chapman, Dobie Gray and Russell Smith, his debut release: MCA Records' The Scratch Band Featuring Danny Flowers, earned him a Country Music Awards (CMA) nomination.
Karla Davis: Davis is a soulful singer/songwriter from Monroe, North Carolina. Driven by the church, it was the choir that invoked her musical spirit. Music found Karla just as quickly as her fingers found their home on the fret board of her first guitar.
Karla took a leap of faith in the fall of 2009 when she decided to move to Nashville, TN. In January 2010 Karla was named the winner of the Colgate Country Showdown and was given the title Best New Act in Country Music. After starting her own independent record label and recording her debut album, Karla found herself on Season 2 of NBC's The Voice in 2012 where she made it to the top 16. Karla is currently a participant on American Idol XIV!
Karla is now working with Jeff Balding and Gordon Kennedy and continuing to write, perform, and hone her craft with the likes of some of the best in the business. Karla's newest single, "I Can't Sleep Tonight" is now available for download everywhere!
