Expanding Workforce Diversity: Resources to Find Workers in a Tight Labor Market

Please join us at this free seminar designed to help business owners and managers understand Employment First, a state policy adopted in 2008 that prioritizes guiding people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to integrated jobs in the community.

Speakers

Darci Shivers, Transition Network Facilitator, Douglas Education Service District

Darci Shivers works for Douglas Education Service District as the Transition Network Facilitator for Douglas, Coos, and Curry counties. She has worked with school districts and service providers for the past 2 years to increase competitive community-integrated employment for people with disabilities. She facilitates the Employment First meetings in part of her region and co-facilitates in other areas. She previously worked in the Douglas County Mental Health and Juvenile Department.

Cindy Cameron, Transition Network Facilitator, Southern Oregon Education Service District

Cindy Cameron works for Southern Oregon Education Service District as the Transition Network Facilitator for Jackson, Josephine and Klamath counties. She was a small business owner for 17 years, worked in special education as a transition specialist, and for Jackson County Developmental Disabilities Services as a service coordinator for youth 16-21. She co-facilitates the Employment First team in her region, is on her community accountability board, and sits on the Phoenix City Council.
