Hey Seniors! Are you applying for a major scholarship that will require an interview?

You are invited to attend a FREE, mock scholarship interview session to prepare you for the real interview. A light dinner will be provided for students.

When: Thursday, February 8th

Time: 5:00-8:00 PM

Doors will open at 4:30PM.

Where: Hinkley High School:1250 Chambers Rd.Aurora, CO 80011

RSVP: Students Must RSVP by 5:00PM Friday, February 2nd as space is limited.

Parents: Tickets are required for STUDENTS only. Parents are invited to stay in the family lounge during the event.

Goodwill Industries of Denver is partnering with professionals and volunteers to help you prepare for your major scholarship interviews!

In addition to the practice interview students will:

  • Meet other students from around the state and potentially their future schools.
  • Hear from a Keynote Speaker on how to make a good impression in your interview.
  • Participate in a College Panel to ask questions and get advice from current college students.
  • And more!

Goodwill Industries of Denver’s (GID) Mock Scholarship Interview event is not associated or affiliated with The Daniels Fund, Boettcher Foundation, Greenhouse, Gates or any other scholarship recipient selection program. This event is to provide a service to students who will be interviewing for scholarships so that they may feel prepared and more confident and to further encourage youth in Colorado to successfully pursue their post-secondary goals. Participation in this event is voluntary and does not impact the selection process or decisions of any scholarship program.

The Mock Scholarship Interview event is open to all students in the state of Colorado and RSVP’s are accepted on a first come first serve basis.


What happens after I register?

Once registered, you will receive an email with detailed information about the event, PAPERWORK WILL BE ATTACHED TO THE EMAIL THAT IS REQUIRED FOR YOU TO PRINT AND BRING WITH YOU. Please watch closely for the email and complete any necessary follow up.

Is there a dress code for this event?

Professional attire is highly recommended. A Dress for Success guide will be provided to you in your confirmation email.

Do I need to bring anything?

YES! Please bring the signed Media Release form (you will receive this in your confirmation email) and your Student ID for registration check-in. Although not required, we also recommend that students bring at least 3 copies of their resume if they have one.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

There is a large parking lot on the west side of Hinkley High School, the entrance is on N. Chambers Rd. Please follow any markers or signs to the main entrance of the school.

RTD - The R light rail line Colfax station is 1.5 miles from Hinkley. In addition, multiple bus stops are within walking distance of the school.

My parents/grandparents/older sibling/etc. plan to bring me - do they need a ticket too?

No - any adult accompanying a student to this event does NOT need a ticket. Students are not required to attend this event with an adult or guardian.

Can my parent/guardian come to the event?

Yes! A Family Lounge will be available for parents or guardians to wait and to learn about additional resources offered through Goodwill. Family members are not permitted to remain with their students during presentations and interviews.

I signed up but can no longer attend - do I need to cancel?

YES - if you can no longer attend, please cancel your registration here on Eventbrite or let us know as soon as possible so we can accommodate students on the waitlist.

I just heard about this event but registration is full and/or closed. Can I still sign up?

Please sign up on the waitlist and we will be in touch if we are able to accommodate you.

I'm on the waitlist - when will I hear back?

While we will do our best to accommodate everyone on the waitlist, students on the waitlist will be contacted by 5:00pm on February 7th at the email address provided to confirm that space has become available or with sincerest regrets.
