Description

18 years old and all grown up! Hard to believe and, yes, the years do fly by! To celebrate we'll be throwing a little party with an absolutely stellar line-up of musicians to lead the way. Multifaceted artist Scott Law is a powerful instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and raconteur operating at the very highest level of his craft. Hailed as an “esteemed flat-picker” by Acoustic Guitar magazine, Law is equally reverent and inventive on electric guitar, acoustic guitar and mandolin and sought after as both leader and accompanist. Currently, Law co-leads and tours with the band “Scott Law & Ross James’ Cosmic Twang,” with new recorded works of their psychedelic Americana to release in 2019. Law plays regularly with Phil Lesh, legendary bass player and founding member of the Grateful Dead in the rotating “Phil Lesh & Friends” cast and continues a week-long monthly residency at the Lesh family’s Terrapin Crossroads venue in San Rafael, California since February 2013. He has played and collaborated with an array of legendary and popular contemporary artists including Phil Lesh (Grateful Dead), Peter Rowan, Darol Anger’s Republic of Strings, The String Cheese Incident, The Travelin' McCourys, Melvin Seals, Tony Trischka, Tim O’Brien, Greensky Bluegrass and many others.
Tonight Scott is joined by a very special group of musicians, including the legendary Tony Furtado. Very few musicians of any stripe so personify a musical genre as completely as Tony Furtado embodies Americana roots music. Tony is an evocative and soulful singer, a wide-ranging songwriter and a virtuoso multi-instrumentalist adept on banjo, cello-banjo, slide guitar and baritone ukulele who mixes and matches sounds and styles with the flair of a master chef.
On bass is Samson Grisman, Nashville resident and son of mandolin pioneer, David Grisman. He'll hold down the rhythm with Portland treasure, Carlton Jackson, on drums. Carlton has played with a literal who's who in jazz, funk, rock and really, just about every genre of music. Blessed with a great set of ears, Jackson can blend in with anyone and elevates all of his projects through his mastery of the skins. DO NOT MISS THIS ONE!!!
