Goodbye 2020 + Let’s Do This 2021 - New Year Workshop for Teens Ages 14-18
Event Information
About this Event
2020 was a rough year y’all, and especially on teens. Whether it was adjusting to online school, not being able to see friends in-person, feeling stuck on a screen all day long, or the typical hardships that come with being a teen, this was a big year.
Many teens had to sacrifice in some way– be it sacrificing their first high school spring break, prom, graduation, and time with friends. Navigating the unexpected and unprecedented nature of this year has been stressful.
That’s why it’s so important as a teen to take some time to evaluate and consciously wrap up 2020. There are lessons from this year we want to take away, be it things we learned about others, life, or ourselves. There are things we need to process and let go of. And every teen deserves the opportunity to acknowledge themselves for making it through a wild year.
It is also crucial for teens to imagine what is possible for themselves entering 2021. What do they want it to look like? What values are most important to them this year?
That’s why we created this workshop, so teens could have a chance to reflect on, process, and complete 2020, and so teens could have a chance to create a vision for their 2021.
What your teen will get if they participate:
- A chance to reflect on 2020- school, family, friends, relationships, and COVID
- Let go of the things that they might be ruminating on, frustrated over, or still blaming themselves or others for
- Claim the lessons they learned and what they want to take away from 2020
- An understanding of their own resilience, strength, and gifts
- Clarity on 2021- what they want it to look like, how they want to feel, and the values that are most important to them
- Leave feeling grateful, inspired, and ready to tackle 2021
