2017-18 Nonprofit Management Workshop Series: Good Governance - Board Roles & Responsibilities

Having strong local partners that support small businesses is key to the success of New York City’s commercial districts. Our Nonprofit Management workshop content is curated to help staff and board members at nonprofit economic development organizations that execute commercial revitalization projects in their neighborhoods.

Description:

Board members of nonprofit organizations are responsible for managing and preserving the organization's assets and ensuring it meets its goals. In this session, you will learn how to develop policies and procedures that explain (1) the fiduciary (legally required) responsibilities of board members, (2) how assets are managed properly, and (3) how the organization achieves its mission.

Total course hours: 1 session, half day (9:30am - 12:30pm).
