FoodLab Detroit, Wayne State’s Innovation Warriors, Eli’s Tea, and Foodstand have come together to present “Good Food Spotlight”, an interactive food business “pitchfest” that gives selected entrepreneurs in the FoodLab community the chance to present their innovative business plans and receive immediate feedback from a panel of expert judges.
This is an exciting opportunity to meet face-to-face with the food entrepreneurs who took part in FoodLab’s “Building a Values Based Food Brand” workshop series, in which the participants worked on their business model that focused on developing solutions to increasing access to fresh, healthy, and high-quality foods and beverages in Detroit.
Catch a glimpse of the industry’s future and join us on December 5th. “Good Food Spotlight” will feature pitches from five lucky food entrepreneurs, and will include an audience of mentors, investors, buyers, writers, food enthusiasts and members of Detroit’s innovation and entrepreneurial community. These entrepreneurs will dazzle a live audience with their 5-minute business pitch in front of a panel of prolific industry experts who will provide candid feedback while the audience submits live polling feedback to help each business succeed.
The winning food entrepreneur will be awarded a cash prize & mentorship to help them improve their financial projections and address immediate business needs, such as increasing profits and attracting investment.
Members of the community and media are invited to attend the pitch competition. Together we will offer our support to encourage these food entrepreneurs to pursue their ideas, creating positive health and wellness outcomes in their community and beyond.
