Description

Join us, on the 111th anniversary of the death of Fr Jones of Cardiff, for Cheese and Wine by Candlelight and an array of stories from the biography of a priest whose significance lives on to this day. Fr Griffith Arthur Jones was the Vicar of St Mary's from 1872 to 1903, and lived and minstered during a time when Cardiff grew from a town to a city. He transformed St Mary's Church but also played his part in the development of Cardiff and the place that was once so well known as Tiger Bay - and yet, whilst once so well known and so well loved through the streets of Cardiff, his story today remains unknown to so many people.

Our evening begins with a Sung Mass at 7.00 pm to celebrate the life of Fr Jones - to which all are welcome. And then, at 8.15 pm. our candlelit evening of story and wine begins, as we discover the history and the mystery of St Mary's Church, and unfold the secrets which are just waiting to be discovered...!

Our event is free, although donations will be welcomed.
