This is the second installment of the Special Education Reform Series. Our first session, held on December 12th, afforded participants an opportunity to explore various strategies that help support struggling learners in the ICT classroom. Our facilitator, Rebekah, engaged our participants in a number of activities designed to strengthen teacher partnerships in order to more effectively co-teach our most needy students.
Please take advantage of this opportunity to offer training to a team of professionals who will begin to implement the strategies and structures expected under the new Special Education Reform and plan a thoughtful program of support for 9th graders. A focus of this workshop is on helping school communities understand and respond to the Special Education Reform and offering support in the areas of classroom based strategies and structures that support the inclusion of students with special needs in general education classrooms. These strategies are based on the needs of their current students, class population and current curricular demands. The strategies are classroom-based, student-centered and easy for teachers to replicate in their own classrooms.
