JPII Alum Golden Tate '07 will host the fourth annual Golden Tate Football Clinic at Pope John Paul II High School on Saturday, June 1, 2019. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Jim Carell Athletic Complex (football field). The clinic will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. and will dismiss at noon. The Clinic is open to both male and female athletes.

Everyone is invited to join Golden for lunch on the JPII campus following the clinic. All proceeds from the luncheon ticket sales will go to support the JPII Tate Scholars Fund. The fund will provide need-based financial aid for future Knights.

Golden Tate '07 was a USA Today second-team prep All-America pick for 2006 on defense … rated 11th prep player nationally on ESPN Top 150 … selected to Super Southern 100 team for 2006 by Atlanta Journal-Constitution as one of 11 wide receivers … one of 11 players from Tennessee selected to All-Southern team by Orlando Sentinel … rated one of top 250 players nationally by Rivals.com, including second among Tennessee prospects and seventh nationally among players in his athlete category … He was voted Tennessee’s “Mr. Football” in both 2005 and 2006. He went on to become a consensus all-American receiver at Notre Dame and in 2009 was chosen as the Biletnikoff winner as the nation’s best receiver.
