When & Where
Haitian American Veterans Association
Haitian American Veteran’s Association
The Haitian American Veterans Association is nonprofit organizations that will help maintain improve and guide veterans’ way of life, nationally and internationally, through advocacy and a network of support and referral services.
We will guide veterans to the Veterans Administration, Social Services and to other programs that are in place for them. We will also help veterans who face certain problems such as homelessness, reentry after combat, nutritional needs, and many other veteran related issues. We think it is also important to promote the military history of Haitian American veterans’ contribution to the United States.
These goals will be accomplished by community outreach, networking with government agencies, and collaboration with other organizations. To accomplish these goals we will be relying on membership dues, sponsorship, grants and fundraising. We will also march in parades, and develop educational workshops in various communities.
Veterans of the United States deserve a good quality of life. Our veterans are the reason we enjoy a free society and we believe it is our duty to help them achieve that. We want to bring to light not only the enormous contribution of Haitian American Veterans, but also the contributions of all veterans groups in this country.
Funds collected are used to support Veterans that are in Haiti and in need of assistance to return to normal life after the devastating earthquake in January 2010.
