Golden Giddyup Trail Stewardship Kickoff
Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM (CDT)
Kickoff the Trail Stewardship Season with the Giddyup Trail Team & Jeffco Open Space!
BACKGROUND: The Golden Giddyup is a community sponsored bike event and trail stewardship program to be held each year on Jeffco Open Space parks. Founded after the 2013 floods wrecked towns and trails from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs, the Giddyup Trail team donated 1,662 volunteer hours to Jeffco Open Space in 2016. This event is intended to kick off the 2017 volunteer season and to showcase the good work outdoor stewards contribute to Jeffco Open Space.
VOLUNTEERS CAN CHOOSE 1 OF 3 SITES TO VOLUNTEER AT
WHAT YOU’RE DOING IS IMOPORTANT: The Golden Giddyup features three of the most used — and loved — trail systems in the Jefferson County Open Space (JCOS) system that connect to downtown Golden: Apex Mountain Park, Windy Saddle Park, and North Table Mountain Park. The Giddyup Trail Team is the trail stewardship component of the Giddyup. With several thousand hours put in on our trails in the past few years, volunteer efforts help maintain and improve the trails in these parks.
Work will consist of light trail maintenance that will help provide a safe and sustainable experience for all of our users.
**LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED. PLEASE NOTIFY JCOS IF YOU HAVE ANY DIETARY RESTRICTIONS**
