Husband and wife duo, Gold and Gray, are Calli Dollinger and Clifton Bonner. With a twenty year age difference between them, the music of Gold and Gray spans many eras and genres. Singer/songwriter Calli Dollinger draws from her childhood memories in Austin, Texas where she grew up with a single mother who curated a steady soundtrack of musical matriarchs like Lucinda Williams, Janis Joplin, Madonna, Tori Amos, and Joni Mitchell. Time Out Chicago describes her as "the back room ghost of a classic rock chanteuse." Bonner's playing style is the product of a primarily straight jazz background, but nine years of playing bossanova and Afro-beat in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico also influence the almost cinematic lines he contributes. Together, Calli and Cliff have created a timeless and original body of work that finds itself somewhere between pop, folk, soul, psychedelic, and jazz.
