Event description

Description

Mules love to talk...but we love to listen as well, especially to you. GOAT* Salon gives you an opportunity to speak your mind.

Each salon features a special guest who will talk about something they are working on - a book, music composition, video piece, online project - or just a provocative topic they have an opinion about. But more importantly, we want you to ask questions and chime in, salon-style. It’ll be thought-provoking, funny, and yes, there will be adult beverages.

Our guest is editor and executive director of Places, Nancy Levinson. As both architect and editor, she works to broaden the public constituency for progressive urban and environmental design. Her writing has been featured in both academic and trade periodicals, including Architectural Record, the Journal of Planning Literature, Journal of the Society of Architectural Historians, Perspecta: The Yale Journal on Architecture, The Architect’s Newspaper, I.D., Metropolis, Dwell, Landscape Architecture, Boston Review, Christian Science Monitor, and Planning.

Nancy will be talking about Places, a non-profit journal and invaluable resource on the future of architecture, landscape, and urbanism. Contributors of various backgrounds respond to the challenges of our time: environmental health and social inequity, climate change, resource scarcity, human migration, rapid technological innovation, and the erosion of the public sphere.

To learn a little more about her, read our Q & A with her on our blog.
