Go Eat Give - Destination Peru
Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM (EDT)
You are invited to a fabulous cultural event celebrating the unique eccentricities of Peruvian food, history, music, and art! Come enjoy delicious cuisine from the family operated Machu Picchu Restaurant, which opened in 1993 and was the first Peruvian restaurant in Atlanta.
The family style meal will include authentic food from Peru, including: Papa a la Huancaina, Ceviche de Pescado, Pescado a la Chorillana, Lomo Saltado, Pollo con Arroz & Chica Morada.
Discover the culture of Peru with a special presentation by the Consulate of Peru in Atlanta, featuring an in-depth discussion of the history, people and tourism of Peru. You will also get to learn about the Independence Day of Peru, which is on July 28!
Watch live musical performance by Apu Inka, a group whose traditional Andean sounds combine with rich cosmopolitan melodies to give you a sound of old and new. Using instruments like the quenas, zamponas, charango and indigenous percussion, their mystical style is the product of each musician's contribution to the legacy of their Andean and occidental ancestors.
Ticket includes dinner, tax, tips, speaker & entertainment. Cash bar & free parking. Portion of proceeds benefits Go Eat Give, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that connects people around the world through experiences, volunteering and community projects.
