Go Blue '22: The Berkeley Democratic Club's Gala

Join the Berkeley Democratic Club and special guest Assemblymember Buffy Wicks on Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 6-8pm for a night of merriment and community-building to bring in the new year and prepare for the most important election season in our lifetimes. With midterms traditionally heralding a divided federal government, and President Biden's ambitious green infrastructure agenda and voting rights reform hanging in the balance, it's more important than ever for grassroots organizers to work together and turn out voters to push the Democratic Party's agenda forward and protect the planet for future generations.

All politics is local politics, and the struggle ahead of us starts right here at home. The Berkeley Democratic Club is the oldest Democratic Club in Alameda County, and the oldest Democratic Club in California still active today. Founded in 1934 to support Upton Sinclair's inspiring campaign for Governor as part of his movement to End Poverty In California (EPIC), we're proud to champion Democratic causes locally and abroad. Berkeley is the birthplace of the Free Speech Movement. Berkeley was a home location for the Black Panther Party's revolutionary stand against police brutality and poverty in African American communities throughout the United States. It's our civic duty to carry these traditions forward and fight for equality, justice, and environmental sustainability in our own backyard so that Berkeley can continue to shine as a beacon of effective, progressive Democratic governance.

We provide educational resources, community events, and electoral advocacy to empower all Berkeley residents with the tools to hold local institutions accountable and build a more egalitarian society. We are blessed with the power and responsibility to change the world for the better. Together we are Democracy, and together we win.
