Event description

Description

This free event is brought to you by Gnomon in Hollywood.

On Thursday, December 13th, join us for an intimate evening with acclaimed artist, concept designer, and author Simon Stålenhag. Known for such works as Tales from the Loop, Things from the Flood, and the recently released The Electric State, Simon’s images and stories often depict illusive sci-fi phenomena in mundane, hyper-realistic Scandinavian and American landscapes. His distinct, imaginative style has made him a favorite among the Gnomon community.

The event will kick off at 7:30 pm with a moderated Q&A with Simon, followed by a book signing at 8:30 pm. Attendees are respectfully requested to submit their questions before the event. If you would like to have your question asked during the event, please fill out this form.

Copies of Simon’s books will be available for purchase on site, but audience members are also welcome to bring their own.

This event will not be streamed or recorded. Seating is limited and is first come, first served, so be sure to RSVP for you ticket to attend and arrive in good time to secure your place in line. Attendee check-in will open at approximately 6:00 PM; a valid Eventbrite RSVP will be required to get an event wristband.

Important

Free tickets do not guarantee entry; depending on the demand for the event, admittance will be offered to the first in line until we reach stage capacity. Gnomon reserves the right to deny entry to those displaying disrespectful behavior and will ask anyone acting inappropriately to leave the premises.

Parking

Parking is usually available in surrounding and nearby streets. Please note that parking in the Television Center Complex will require parking fees. Unfortunately, Gnomon cannot validate parking tickets for the Television Center Complex. For alternative parking within walking distance, there is a parking lot situated at 1449 Ivar Avenue, CA 90028 (please note that hourly/daily fees will apply).

Gnomon School of VFX's full-time programs and 10-week individual courses are designed to develop well-rounded artists that are skilled in the diverse disciplines within 3D production. For those outside of the US, virtual classroom-style online courses are also available.
