Welcome to Gnarathon 7!
The annual downhill longboarding race in Waco, TX
April 8-9, 2017 (Sat/Sun)
Emmon's Cliff Drive in Cameron Park
Participants will be able to enjoy 18 hours of closed road skating with hay bales and a Uhaul, camp at Northern Gateway Park Friday and Saturday nights, and receive an event t-shirt, poster, and stickers.
The event is free for spectators so come watch all the high speed action and crazy crashes! You'll also be able to enjoy live music from local DJ's, and purchase food, drinks, event t-shirts, and raffle tickets. There will be restrooms and a hand-washing station on site.

Is spectating free?
—Yes.
Where can I park?
—There is parking at Emmons Cliff Drive and Northern Gateway Park.
When can I register online?
—Online registration will be open until April 6, 2017 (Thursday before the event).
Can I register at the event?
—The entry fee is $60 and must be paid with cash or Paypal at the pavilion before you can skate on the hill. The on-site registration opens Friday morning and closes Saturday afternoon. YOU MUST CONTACT THE EVENT ORGANIZER BEFORE 5PM ON SATURDAY IF YOU ARE GOING TO RACE IN THE BRACKET.
Will there be practice runs on Sunday?
—Yes, we'll do 2-3 in the morning before we start the race.
Do I need to register if I'm not racing?
—Yes. It takes a lot of money to shut down the road which applies to everyone that skates during the event.
Why is the registration $20 more than last year?
—This year registration includes an event t-shirt for everyone ($15) and the other $5 helps cover other expenses such as more hours for the police officers, more hay bales, etc.
What is an IDSA membership and how much does it cost?
—You will be able to sign up at the event for the $20 annual membership of the International Distance Skating Association. This means you are covered with insurance for any event with an IDSA event insurance policy, such as Gnarathon.
How much do raffle tickets cost?
—Raffle tickets are still $1 each, and can be purchased during the event on Saturday and Sunday. There will be lots of awesome prizes from sponsors.
Will there be t-shirts for sale?
—Yes. Every participant will get a free Gnarathon 7 t-shirt, and there will be a few extras for sale $15. There will also be very cheap shirts from previous Gnarathon events for sale too.
Will there be food and water available?
—Yes. $6 lunches will be available for purchase on both Saturday and Sunday (Hamburger + kettle chips or fruit cup + Moonshine Sweet Tea). $8 dinners will be available at the campsite on Saturday evening (BBQ + kettle chips or fruit cup + Moonshine Sweet Tea). $1 sodas, water bottles, candy, and other snacks will be available for purchase 8am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Is camping free?
—Yes. Waco Parks & Recreation is allowing us to camp for free at the Northern Gateway Park next to the hill on Friday and Saturday night. Please clean up after yourself in the park.
Are there restrooms in the park?
—Yes. There will be 2 portable toilets and a hand-washing station at Emmon's Cliff Drive. Northern Gateway Park also has a restroom building.
