Description
Welcome to a virtual book club designed specifically for technical women. Global Tech Women selects books requested by the community on topics of interest for women around the world and provides regular meet-ups for us to gather virtually at convenient hours, network and learn from one another. We provide a summary and discussion for those who don't have time but are interested in the topic and a discussion for those who do!
Our seventh Book Club selection, Leaders Eat Last: Why Some Teams Pull Together and Others Don't, by Simon Sinek, starts with the biology of individual achievements and social interaction and how this translates to teams that have tapped into this physical experience while others flail and struggle to achieve cohesive abilities.
Simon Sinek an unshakable optimist, is the author of the bestselling book Start with Why, which challenged traditional assumptions about how great leaders and great companies inspire people. He has shared his ideas with companies big and small, members of Congress and the highest levels of the U.S. military. His TEDTalk based on Start with Why is the second most popular video of all time on TED.com. He lives in New York City.
We will use Google Hangout (Live On-Air) where you can participate via webcam or you can watch live on YouTube through your Internet browser. Details will be posted a few days before the meet-up.
