Global SciComm meet-up: Generative AI for Global Science Communication
Overview
Generative AI for Global Science Communication
In today's rapidly evolving world, using Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) is not just a question anymore and it holds immense potential for science communication. With the increasing attention being paid to AI within Science Communication, how can we harness its capabilities both effectively and responsibly. This is the main goal of SciComm-AI, an initiative founded by prominent science communication professional Mohamed Elsonbaty.
At this Global Scicomm meet-up, we will hear about three core components covered by SciComm-AI when training science communicators on using GenAI. We will then have critical discussions on GenAI in regard to Global Science Communication, with a focus on AI-generated content biases, validation of information and ethical considerations.
So come and join us in this conversation and share your own concerns and perspectives on how GenAI can or is affecting science communication within your region. We’d love to hear from you. As usual, after the main presentation and open discussion we will stay online and open breakout rooms for you to hear and share from each other’s local and global perspectives.
