Global Meetup October 6th: Claudia Shneider on Social Art-making in Africa
Global Meetup is a monthly event open to all. Each month, we feature a Dreamfish member that is developing an aspect of Human Work. October 6th, Claudia Shneider, social artist in Berlin, will join us. Claudia created the work, "Living and Dying in Africa", and is the founder of the Joburg Fringe Festival in Johannesburg, South Africa. Claudia will give a talk: Hands Up!
Hands Up! evoke both negative [robbery] but also positive connotations [participation and asking a qustion]. Hands Up! is about human experience of value. Value can be self value, of one's own culture and skills. Value can be available resources as in waste material. What is your relationship to value?
Claudia will tell stories of making sculptural installations with waste materials, and invite us to participate in her next project.
Claudia will also be introducing her new Dreamfish project "Weaving Words".
