Description

Thank you for your interest in the First Annual Global Climate Restoration Forum. Registration for the event has now closed in compliance with United Nations security protocols. If you did not manage to register in time, we invite you to join us virtually and tune into our livestream--sign up at f4cr.org/forum. Please email info@f4cr.org with any questions.

With support from the United Nations Office for Partnerships and in partnership with Earth Day Network and Future Coalition, the Foundation for Climate Restoration will host the first Global Climate Restoration Forum in partnership with Member States on September 17, 2019.

At this year’s Global Climate Restoration Forum, thought leading practitioners from science, engineering, economics, policy, finance and industry will gather in New York to discuss why Climate Restoration is an essential framework for climate action, and how we can safely restore a healthy climate in a single generation.

More Info

The Forum will promote the theme and message of climate restoration, focusing on removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, restoring ocean ecosystems, and restoring and preserving Arctic ice. Bringing together thought leading practitioners from science, engineering, economics, policy, finance and industry, the Forum aims to discuss why Climate Restoration is an essential framework for climate action, and how we can safely restore a healthy climate in a single generation.

Mitigation, adaptation and climate restoration are critical to the survival of humanity– we must continue to reduce emissions, support those most vulnerable to the consequences of climate change, and actively remediate the damage that CO2 emissions have wrought. We’ve seen incredible work focused on mitigation and adaptation, and solutions and initiatives are required to restore our climate and remove the excess atmospheric CO2.

F4CR is working to build a coalition of partners, the Coalition for Climate Restoration, from all sectors, public and private, to support the goal of restoring our climate to pre-industrial levels by 2050.

The Forum seeks to advance climate restoration as a complementary initiative in the ongoing global efforts for climate mitigation and adaptation. The First Annual Global Climate Restoration Forum will demonstrate that humanity has the commitment and capacity to accelerate carbon removal and restore our climate.
